First and foremost...
Be Real.
First, start off with yourself. Be real with yourself. For once in your life, look at it from the outside in. How do you really think you are going to solve your problems? If you are hiding behind things and lying about who you are then you will never find happiness. Ignoring the problems and pretending they do not exist does not miraculously turn into a perfect life. In order to tackle any problem, you have to be real with yourself.
In order to discover what will truly make you happy you have to be real with yourself. Do you want to wake up at 5 in the morning or do you have to? Everyone has bills and obligations that they are responsible for. There is not a cookie cutter answer on how you are supposed to be an adult. Every person has to find the things that work best for them. No one is going to come out and say "Hey Sally here is the picture perfect life you asked for," remember that. Everything you want and need you are going to have to go get yourself.
Be Real With Your Parents.
You do realize that these two people and their counterparts will always love you. They are there to guide you. Personally, I have found that the more you open up to your parents, the more they will open up to you. During that process of communication, you may learn a few things, and they might as well.
However, you cannot do that with your phone stuck in your face. Just adding in the obvious. These people that raised you into this world love you more than you will ever understand. They have spent countless hours making countless sacrifices that you have somehow not realized they did it. All they want is for you to find your own spot in this crazy world we live in.
I suggest you just start being real with people in general.
Every person you come in contact every single day if you feel happy, smile. Don't just walk by. Talk to the lady next to you at the grocery store in line. Reach out to people and you will discover that all your problems can be fixed. Never think that you are the only one because you are not.
Someone asks how your day is? Tell them. You will never know what could come from that interaction. You never know what blessings will be waiting for you. Stop hiding behind this mask that everyone is perfect and realize that you and your problems are as real as everyone else's. None of us are perfect, and the minute we start accepting that is the day that happiness will make its way to you.
